Donna Case BSc (Hons) - Competition Nutritionist (South)
Donna originally learnt to ride at the age of 9 at her local equestrian centre. As she grew up she worked for the riding school in return for lessons, and began to compete on both horses and ponies in all disciplines, but with a focus on dressage.
Donna had always planned to work with horses so at the age of 16 she booked herself in for her stage one, which she took and passed at Talland School of Equitation.
Donna continued to compete whilst completing her A-levels before going to Writtle College where she gained a BSc (Hons) Equine Studies degree. Whilst at Writtle Donna realised she had a passion for nutrition. Combining her nutritional expertise and practical experience now enables her to apply the highest level of technical advice to all competative disciplines.
Donna has worked for SPILLERS® since July 2004. Whilst SPILLERS® have worked with the British Equestrian Federation for many years, 2006 saw the start of Donna attending BEF squad events as Competition Nutritionist. Donna works with elite riders across all disciplines.
Charlotte Blaken BSc (Hons) – Competition Nutritionist (North)
Charlotte’s interest for horses started at the age of 10 when she learnt to ride at a local riding establishment. One year later she was given her first pony which sparked the beginning of her passion for horses.
Charlotte gained a BSc (Hons) in Animal Science at The Nottingham Trent University where she combined her studies with working at a professional showing yard, competing horses at county level. Charlotte now focuses on dressage, she competes regularly and is currently working towards medium level with her Hanoverian x mare.
Charlotte has worked for SPILLERS® since June 2006, where both her nutritional and practical knowledge enables her to provide support to professional competition yards of all disciplines throughout the North.
David Mathers HND - Competition Nutritionist (Scotland & Ireland)
David Mathers joined SPILLERS® in 1999 having graduated as top student in Enniskillen College with an HND in Equine Studies. As David originally studied human nutrition as part of his Hotel management degree, it was a natural progression to then work within equine nutrition.
A wide variety of his equine experience was gained through working in a number of yards in France, U.S.A., Australia and New Zealand. David enjoys hunting and has evented and ridden at point to points in the past. At present he has a thoroughbred brood mare and a ¾ bred hunter.
