Horses and Riders enjoy Trailblazers series

I thought you might be interested to know about our horse Rio. He is ridden and competed by myself and my husband John. John is also instructor, he is a BHS II. We compete in showing, dressage, dressage to music, one day events and show jumping. He is really an all round horse. We both qualified for trailblazers and last week went to the trailblazers finals at Stoneleigh, a first for both of us.

They were a great two days and the sun was shining all the time. Rio is a very laid back chap and never gets excited, well not until trailblazers, when were in the arena.... He suddenly realised this was great fun and took hold as we tried to do a simple change over X. 

As you can imagine I was very disappointed with the test, but good to see Rio was having such a good time. Not that this was the the time or place to 'have a good time' though!

However, after this, he settled down and John came 5th in the elementary finals and I came 5th in my novice consolation class. This was a great result, and on our 10 wedding anniversary too!!!
