Care-Line Nutritionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Care-Line Nutritionist to work within the fast paced and dynamic Marketing team, managing our nutritional Care-Line. We are looking for a highly organised self-starter with excellent communication skills, a good knowledge of equine nutrition, horse owner empathy and a real passion for customer service.

MARS Horsecare UK Ltd owns many market leading nutrition brands including SPILLERS®, WINERGY® and EQUIVITE®. Although run as a separate segment Mars Horsecare UK is part of MARS Inc. one of the most respected consumer goods companies in the world, with leading pet care brands such as PEDIGREE®, WHISKAS® and ROYAL CANIN®. 

The main functions of the role will focus on providing nutritional and product advice to horse owners, retailers and vets across all our brands via email and over the telephone. The Care-Line nutritionist will also be expected to record and monitor progress against agreed KPI’s alongside identifying improved ways of working and opportunities to develop this service in support of our business. In addition the Care-Line Nutritionist will be required to support our digital marketing strategy by generating relevant content.

The successful candidate will be high calibre with drive and the ability to work on their own initiative. Exceptional time management and organisational skills are essential alongside the capability of working effectively alone or as part of a small team.

Candidate requirements:

  • Have a biological science based degree such as Equine or Animal Science
  • Practical horse experience
  • Horse owner empathy
  • Good basic understanding of equine nutrition
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of blog writing and social media management would be an advantage
  • IT literate
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Strong internal and external customer focus
